The Hungry Caterpillar is inspired by lessons from the bestselling
children’s book The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle, which is
about a caterpillar exploring and consuming various food items through
the week and later on metamorphosing into a butterfly. At The Hungry
Caterpillar, we hope to be the safe and secure cocoon to let children
explore their interests and fulfill their needs to become thriving,
well-rounded individuals.
What sets The Hungry Caterpillar
apart is that we are the first in Klang Valley to incorporate multiple
internationally-acclaimed teaching systems and methods. This unique
program, with a harmonious integration of systems such as Jolly
Phonics, Singaporean mathematics and Kindermusik, allows children to
learn and explore in fun and creative ways. We utilise the
British-based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework to guide
our teaching and enrichment activities, which is also compatible with
the local childhood education curriculum (NPSC). At the end of the
day, we are thrilled to say our students are learning from the best of
many international standards.
We believe our students will
grow up to leave meaningful impact, therefore they need a solid
foundation in education that prioritises positive values. The journey
that your child will experience at The Hungry Caterpillar will be
unlike any other, as we focus on building strong characters and
intellectual capacities simultaneously. In line with the whole-child
focus which we subscribe to, we will give individualised attention to
nurture your child’s cognitive, personal and physical development.
The
Hungry Caterpillar is located in a linked double story corner lot in
the residential area of Petaling Jaya, which contains state-of-the-art
facilities and amenities. We are also proud of our experienced staff
who have strong backgrounds in a variety of disciplines - education,
child psychology, languages and arts. Here at The Hungry Caterpillar,
we will ensure your child feels comfortable and welcomed in our space,
no matter their background.
At The Hungry Caterpillar, we believe our students will grow up with
immense capabilities as an individual and as a contributor to the
society they will be in. Therefore, we hope to foster a strong and
positive foundation for students to learn critically and
independently. We aspire to build an international community where
respect is given to everyone regardless of class, nationality, race
and religion.
To fulfill this vision, we aim to communicate our values through the
provision of a holistic child-centered environment that is conducive
for personal development. Teaching methods are also student-centered,
ensuring each student learns in the best way possible. Through a
collaborative ecosystem of staff, family and students, we will be able
to explore the young student’s interests and develop their potential.
